Berit Engen WEFT and D'RASH – A Thousand Jewish Tapestries

Lights in Winter Windows

ZOOM, LOOK, LISTEN!
A Free, Online Class on Jewish topics
as reflected in my contemporary tapestries

I enjoy sharing my Jewish-related art and knowledge with friends of all beliefs and persuasions. Please see the general information flier describing the five-session monthly class on the Tanakh (the Hebrew Bible) I taught in the winter/spring of 2024.  I repeated the class (back by popular demand !) in the summer, then over five weeks. Each session included a PowerPoint slide show of selected tapestries.

I will resume teaching in late winter/spring of 2025. The topic will be "Understanding  Judaism Through the Lens of Jewish Holidays." Dates and times will be announced at the end of February. Registration will be through me. To be added to my class mailing-list and be notified about the next class, please contact me at beritengen27@gmail.com

“Zoom, Look, Listen!” is offered in conjunction with the Creative Community of Oak Park Temple. I designed and administered it in collaboration with and under the supervision of Rabbi Max Weiss.

Testimonials:

I just wanted to let you know how much I am loving all that I am learning in your class. Your knowledge, spirituality, and incredible tapestries are profound; and it truly is an honor to experience your class.

I must let you know that your generous sharing of your work is especially enriching in these very dark days of assault on Jewish living. Even just one color next to another gives me such joy and reason for reflection on how fortunate we are to have this awareness. (And your matzoh-tapestry is more delicious than any “bread of affliction” that I have ever eaten …

You are able to depict so much emotions in your weavings. I am always impressed anew with the depth and breadth of each collection.
