TAPESTRIES: 34 SERIES > Book of Prophets (I-II)
BOOK OF PROPHETS (I)
– For Children: A Little Lamb and One Humongous Fish
The sayings of the prophets appeal to children with their innocent instincts of right and wrong.
BOOK OF PROPHETS (II)
– For Grown-Ups: Daring Rebukes but Visions of Peace
Of the many roles of the prophets, the role as social critic produced challenging imperatives in an allegorical, poetic language. I remember hearing them in Norway as a political activist in my teens, and I was amazed when, decades later I heard them in the synagogue in the U.S. and realized they were not created by a flower-power poet of the Sixties.
